Well, we wanted to spend a special day with Asher before Justin went to California. I knew it was going to be hard on him to have his dad away for a few weeks (and it has been very hard on him!) so we thought a morning at the dinosaur museum would be just right. Asher is a big fan of dinosaurs and it always cracks me up how much he knows about them. Asher was a champ! Some parts of the museum can be intimidating for a 2 year old but he really did super well. The only thing he really didn't like was the room with the giant shark head in it. We ran with our eyes closed through that room.

Then we decided to see the 3D Dinosaur movie. I wish we would have seen the warning about how loud and scary the movie is for small kids before it had already started! Asher was really into it, and I couldn't believe he kept his glasses on the whole time. Most of the time he looked like this, but...
a few times he did get scared of the 3D things flying at him and he hid behind his blanket.
The best was after we watched 4 or 5 T-Rex dinosaurs bite the legs of a really large dinosaur to try and get him to fall down Asher said "The T-Rex are being naughty. They need to go to the corner now!" It was really fun to spend the morning with our Asher.
Then for lunch we went to a restaurant that happened to have and arcade. It was for sure Asher's favorite part.
I played him in a game of Air Hockey and he's a natural. It was really fun.
This was right after he beat me and yelled "SCORE!" Asher you are too fun to be with! Thanks for a great morning.
This morning the boys had fun playing with blocks, shapes, and tools. "N-n-nancy" has the best toys.
Asher found this in the toy box and asked me what it was. I told him it was a rolling pin and that some people use it to bake yummy food. He said "Oh, I see. We better take it back to Lisa so she can make more cookies." He knows who the cook in our family is!
After their naps I gave them each a silly little easter toy with some treats inside. It had an M&M guy on it with a button you could push to turn on a soft little fan. They were quite pleased.
Too bad these kind of cheap toys don't last long. I think they quit working before we made it to the California border.
But, they did entertain the boys for a while and on a road trip... that's good enough!
I was sitting with our stuff and Justin went and looked out at the airplane. When he came back he said something about a "Prop Plane" but I heard a "Crop Plane". So, for the next few minutes I'm getting pretty nervous picturing us boarding a dinky little crop duster airplane. I was actually relieved when I saw this little guy.
Thanks so much to Honey and Papa (and everyone else who helped) for taking care of the boys again! We had a lovely weekend and really appreciate all of you!
Here are the boys when we went out for a walk soon after we joined Justin in California. I hadn't seen them look this happy in weeks. Whenever we all get in the car together, or hold hands, or give hugs Asher says something like "Yeah, because we are a family!" We are so happy to be together as a family again!
We had a great time with Nic, Dave, Dan, and Grandma Winne at Folsom Lake. A huge thanks to Dave and Dan for pushing/pulling the stroller everywhere for me! The boys loved it. The only thing that would have made it better was if their Daddy could have been there. The weather was beautiful and the things to throw into the water were plentiful.
